A ton of gratitude - Rakul Preet Singh pens thank you note as Yaariyan completes 10 years

As the romantic comedy film Yaariyan marks 10th year anniversary of its release today, Rakul Preet Singh pens a heartfelt note about her journey in Bollywood

Yaariyan has been one of the most loved coming-of-age films, that also marked the Bollywood debut of Rakul Preet Singh. As the film completes 10 years today, the actress took to her social media handles to pen a note of gratitude, and also opened up about her journey in the industry.

In the note shared along with the stills from Yaariyan, the Chhatriwali star reminisced her journey as a young girl who had big dreams when she entered the industry. She also cited her ‘hard work, perseverance and consistency’ for her success. While thanking everybody, she conveyed that she holds immense gratitude to them for helping her achieve her dreams and went on to extend her thanks to her well wishers for ‘making her live this reality’. She ended the note with the hashtag #pictureabhibaakihaimeredost, hinting at her exciting new releases that are coming the way!

Debut with Kannada film

The actress, who made her acting debut with Kannada film Gilli, went on to do a string of films in south before she was signed for a role in Yaariyan. The romantic comedy marked the directorial debut of Divya Khosla Kumar and also featured Himansh Kohli, Shreas Pardiwala, Dev Sharma, Nicole Faria and Evelyn Sharma in lead roles.

Although the Divya Khosla Kumar directorial failed to impress critics and received largely negative reception, the movie became a box office success. The audiences hailed the film for its youthful romance, and the film’s album was a smash hit.

Two biggies in Rakul Preet Singh’s lineup

On the work front, Rakul will be seen in Sivakarthikeyan-starrer science-fiction comedy Ayalaan which is slated to be released on January 12, coinciding with Sankranti/ Pongal. The actress will also be starring in Kamal Haasan-S Shankar’s most-anticipated action film Indian 2, which is the sequel to its first instalment.
