Tiger 3's Salman Khan has been hitting the gym with a vengeance and observing a strict diet to play a paramilitary officer in his next film

Earlier this year, 57-year-old Salman Khan created quite a frenzy by sporting a new hairstyle: a buzz cut. Now, reports suggest that the look is part of the initial phases of a transformative journey that the actor has been on for his upcoming project, which is said to be on a patriotic subject. According to sources, Salman will play a paramilitary officer in his next film and is dedicated to convincingly portraying the part.

Sources close to the development told Hindustan Times, “After a long time, Salman Khan has picked a film that is pushing him to transform. He is excited to try a new look for the film, for which he is undergoing rigorous training in the gym and keeping a strict check on his diet. He will bulk up for the role. The role requires him to be in the best possible shape. The transformation will follow similar lines as he did for his film Sultan.”

What is Salman Khan’s upcoming film about?
The Hindustan Times reported that the film is centered around the Maldives coup attempt in 1988. Portraying a significant historical event, the plot revolves around the Indian Army's successful intervention to thwart a coup led by Maldivian businessman Abdullah Luthufi that was aimed at overthrowing the government. Salman Khan plays a man who had a pivotal role in leading the mission.

As of now, Salman is eagerly looking forward to the release of his film with Katrina Kaif, Tiger 3. The action thriller, directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films, has Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist.
Tiger 3, part of the YRF's Spy Universe, is the third installment in the Tiger series after Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai.
