Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick, and Allison Janney lead an all-star cast in A Simple Favor 2.
Allison Janney has joined the cast of A Simple Favor 2 (Amazon MGM Studios). The actor will reprise his role in Paul Feig's 2018 mystery-comedy alongside Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick.
Feig will return to direct A Simple Favor 2 which also stars Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho, and Kelly McCormack. Along with Lionsgate, the studio has been hard at work on the highly anticipated sequel to 2018's A Simple Favor, which was well-received by critics and audiences alike, grossing over $97 million globally.
In the sequel, Emily Nelson's lavish wedding to a wealthy Italian businessman takes place on the picturesque island of Capri in Italy, and the film follows Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) and Emily on their return to the island with her new husband, Blake Lively. There will be glitzy guests, but there will also be murder and betrayal during this wedding. The route from Marina Grande to Capri Town Square is more winding than the wedding itself.
Meanwhile, Janney also stars in Palm Royale on Apple TV+ alongside Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern, and Carol Burnett. For the uninitiated, the veteran actor has won seven SAG Awards, an Oscar, seven Emmys, a Golden Globe, two Critics Choice Awards, a BAFTA, and an Independent Spirit Award. In addition to filming Season 2 of The Diplomat on Netflix, Janney has wrapped up filming on Everything's Going To Be Great a comedy-drama from Lionsgate, and on the drama feature Miss You, Love You.
Meanwhile, actor, producer, director, and New York Times bestselling author Anna Kendrick has been nominated for numerous awards, including the Oscars, Golden Globes, Tonys, SAGs, BAFTAs, Emmys, and Independent Spirit Awards. Famous for her roles in films including A Simple Favor, The Shallows, The Age of Adeline, The Town, and the TV series Gossip Girl Blake Lively is also a filmmaker, producer, and entrepreneur.
Viewers will be able to see A Simple Favor 2 on Prime Video when production begins in the spring. Screenwriter Jessica Sharzer originally drew inspiration from Darcy Bell's characters; Laeta Kalogridis and Paul Feig made edits to the script.
