Interestingly, Nyong'o's character has a cat named "Frodo" in the film. Because she was terrified of cats, the actor asked Sarnoski if they could change the animal. After overcoming her anxiety through cat therapy, she eventually got a cat in real life.
Sarnoski conceived Sam as an attempt to challenge genre norms by focusing on a character who had a different relationship to death and survival.
Paramount Pictures released A Quiet Place: Day One on June 28, 2024, following its June 26, 2024, premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. Reviewers gave A Quiet Place: Day One positive reviews and it made $260 million worldwide.
