Just in time for Halloween, A Haunting in Venice is being released digitally. The third Agatha Christie adaptation, directed by Kenneth Branagh, premieres on Disney+ Hotstar on October 31. It was released in theatres in September of this year.
Plot overview:
Set on All Hallows' Eve in a haunted Venice after World War II, A Haunting in Venice is a spine-tingling mystery that sees the return of Hercule Poirot, a famous detective. Poirot, now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world's most fashionable metropolis, attends a séance in a crumbling, haunted palazzo with mixed feelings. When one of the visitors is murdered, the detective is drawn into a murky underworld of hidden agendas and terrible machinations.

With a screenplay by Oscar nominee Michael Green, Kenneth Branagh has directed the movie, which is based on Agatha Christie's book Hallowe'en Party. The film also features many of the filmmakers who worked on Murder on the Orient Express (2017) and Death on the Nile (2022). The producers are Kenneth Branagh, Judy Hofflund, Ridley Scott, and Simon Kinberg, while the executive producers are Louise Killin, James Prichard, and Mark Gordon. Kenneth Branagh, Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, Riccardo Scamarcio, and recent Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh are just some of the superb actors that portray a cast of fascinating characters.

Tina Fey, who made her reputation fictionalising the escapades of the Belgian detective, and Michelle Yeoh, a medium who pretends to conjure Alicia's spirit during the séance, also star in the film.
Box office performance:
Reports have it that, as of October 24, 2023, A Haunting in Venice had made $41.2 million in North America (including the United States and Canada) and $72 million elsewhere (including other regions). It was expected that A Haunting in Venice would earn roughly $12 million from 3,305 theatres in the United States and Canada during its first weekend. On its opening day, the film earned $5.5 million, with $1.2 million coming from Thursday night previews, which is a significant increase from Death on the Nile's $1.1 million.
