Aditya Hasan directs 90s, which brings back an Amrutham-styled sitcom to OTT space
Sivaji, who has been in the headlines for his Bigg Boss Telugu stint recently, is headlining an OTT show next. His web series is titled 90s, which has him paired opposite Tholi Prema, Anni Manchi Sakunamule fame Vasuki Anand. Popular filmmaker Naveen Medaram co-produces the show while it is directed by Aditya Hasan. The show is all set to land on Eenadu group’s OTT platform ETV Win.
ETV Win recently announced the premiere date of 90s as well. The show will be arriving on the digital platform prior to the Sankranthi season on January 5, 2024. The teaser of the show was launched recently by Saindhav star Venkatesh. It’s evident that the show creators attempt to recreate the simplistic, middle-class flavour popularised by sitcoms like Amrutham, Anando Brahma.
The show, like the title states, is set in the 90s and revolves around a middle class couple - a Mathematics teacher and his firm homemaker wife. The couple has three children - two boys and a girl of various age groups. The show focuses on their day-to-day struggles, their misadventures with a touch of humour. The comedy is clean and yet situational and the casting looks quite apt for the show’s theme.

Mouli, Vasanthika, Rohan and Snehal Kamat play other important roles in 90s. From the innocent school days to the struggles of the parents in running the household and the simplistic style of television programmes, the vibe of the show is instantly likeable. The show is the right comeback vehicle for Sivaji, who has limited his screen appearances in films recently.
Suresh Bobbili scores the music for 90s while Azeem Mohammad is the cinematographer. Gandhi Nadikudikar is the art director and Sreedhar Sompalli is the editor. The crew also comprises costume designer Sreedevi Tetali, creative producer Vinod Nagula. Lakshmi Priyanka, Tharun are the lyricists and Sharveen is the executive producer.
