The teaser of Santhanam's upcoming film 80s Buildup has just dropped. The one minute 49 second teaser features Santhanam as an ardent fan of Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. The film, directed by S Kalyaan, is all set to hit screens on November 24.
All about the teaser
While Santhanam plays a Kamal Haasan fan, his grandfather (Sundarrajan) plays a Rajinikanth fan in the film. The two are constantly at loggerheads on proving who is a better actor and whose film would be a bigger hit. On the day of a Kamal Haasan film release, his grandfather passes away, which prevents Santhanam from watching the film. Meanwhile, 'dream girl' arrives for the funeral and also present is Manjakili (Anandraj) Will Santhanam be able to watch the movie after the final rites?

Santhanam shared his excitement on his social media handle, and wrote, "Experience the long-awaited teaser for the #80sBuildup Dive in and feel the excitement. Join us on November 24th for a theater day packed with fun, laughter, a family entertainer, and joy for the kids (sic)!"

Cast and crew of 80s Buildup
The star cast includes Radhika Preethi, Aadukalam Naren, Sundarrajan, Rajendran, Mansoor Ali Khan, Redin Kingsley, Anandraj, Munishkanth, KS Ravikumar and Tiger Thangadurai. Ghibran has scored the music for the comedy flick. While the cinematography is by Jacob Rathinaraj, MS Bharathi is incharge of the editing. Art direction has been handled by AR Mohan. The film is bankrolled by KE Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green. Amazon Prime Video has already acquired the digital rights of the film.
This will be his third outing of the year after DD Returns and Kick. Santhanam is also awaiting the release of Server Sundaram, directed by Anand Balki. As the name suggests, the actor will play a server. The film has been put on the backburner due to distribution issues.
