8 Years of Ek Villain: Sidharth Malhotra goes down the memory lane, shares glimpse of film with Shraddha Kapoor

Directed by Mohit Suri, it also stars Riteish Deshmukh in the lead role.

The popular film, Ek Villain has completed 8 years of its release today. The film, which features Shraddha Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh, was directed by Mohit Suri. The film was highly appreciated for the plot, direction and its performances, especially Deshmukh who played an antagonist role for the first time. Owing to the success of the film, the makers had announced a sequel which is nearing its release.

The actor of Ek Villain, Sidharth Malhotra took to social media to share a glimpse of the film on its eighth anniversary. He took to Instagram stories and shared a video clip, writing 8 Years of Ek Villain.

The film offered an amazing playlist. Songs like "Galliyan", "Zaroorat", "Hamdard" became huge hits. Sidharth and Riteish collaborated again on the film Marjaavaan where Riteish's entry as the villain had him sing the award-winning song "Galliyan" from the Ek Villain playlist. The film is now available to watch on Disney+ Hotstar.

Mohit Suri, who directed the film, is now gearing up for the release of Ek Villain Returns. He has helmed the sequel too. Marking the eighth anniversary of the original film, the makers released the character posters today. The sequel stars John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. The film had cast Aditya Roy Kapur who later backed out reportedly due to creative differences with the filmmaker. The role then went to Arjun Kapoor.

The film, Ek Villain Returns will hit the theatres on July 29, 2022.
