Dharma Durai, the 2016 Tamil film headlined by actor Vijay Sethupathi, has completed eight years since its release. The slice-of-life drama feature is helmed by filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy. Dharma Durai revolves around a doctor, who gets heartbroken and he turns to alcohol. However, he soon becomes a point of embarrassment for his family. A chance meeting with an old friend, makes his life take a turn for the better.
Apart from Vijay Sethupathi and Tamannaah, the film also stars actors Aishwarya Rajesh, Srushti Dange, Radhika Sarathkumar, Ganja Karuppu and Rajesh in pivotal roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for the film, which has the camera cranked by M. Sukumar. Kasi Viswanathan is the editor. RK Suresh under the banner Studio 9 has backed the film.

Vijay Sethupathi and Seenu Ramasamy have collaborated for four films so far including Dharma Durai. The other films are Thenmerku Paruvakaatru, Idam Porul Yaeval, and Maamanithan. It was the 2010 released Thenmerku Paruvakatru which marked the debut of Vijay Sethupathi as a lead actor.
