“Eyes are moist, Heart is full! The National Award: Best Actress for Mimi #Blessed #Grateful” is how Kriti Sanon captioned her heartfelt post on social media. Well, hereon, she won’t be just mere Kriti Sanon, but she will be known as Kriti Sanon, the winner of ‘Best Actress’ award at the recently held 69th National Films Awards 2023.

In an extremely heartfelt post shared by the ‘Mimi’ actress on social media, she wrote, “ELATED – OVERWHELMED – GRATEFUL Still sinking it in.. pinching myself.. this has actually happened! The National Award for Best Actress for Mimi! Thank you to the jury who considered my performance worthy of the most prestigious award! It means the world to me! Dinoo, I can’t thank you enough for believing in me and my potential, for standing by me always and for giving me a film I’ll treasure all my life! Laxman sir.. You always told me “Mimi, dekhna aapko is film ke liye National Award milega” .. Mil gaya sir! And I couldn’t have done this without you. Mom, Dad, Nups.. You guys are my lifeline! Thank you for always being my constant cheerleaders...”

The actress continued, “Congratulations Aliaaaa! So so well deserved! I’ve always admired your work and I’m too excited that I get to share this huge moment with you! Yayyyiiee!! Biggg hug… Lets Celebrate!!”.

For the unversed, while Kriti Sanon bagged the award for the ‘Best Actress’ for her path-breaking role in ‘Mimi’, she shared the award with yet another superlative actress Alia Bhatt, who, too bagged the ‘Best Actress’ award for her stunning role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Speaking of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, the film bagged 5 awards in all. Thee included, Best Editing (Sanjay Leela Bhansali), Alia Bhatt (Best Actress), Best Screenplay (Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Utkarshini Vashishtha), Best Dialogue ( Utkarshini Vashishtha and Prakash Kapadia) and also for Best Makeup.
