Today was the day when the most prestigious 69th National Films Awards 2023 were held. The said event stands as a testimony to the years and months of hard work, sweat and grime that the actors and the entire crew put in towards making that one film. The prolific filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was indeed one of the happiest people today. And, he had every reason to be so. His ‘magnum opus’ ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ won as many as 5 awards at the ‘69th National Films Awards 2023’, which included Alia Bhatt bagging the ‘Best Actress’ award, which she shared with Kriti Sanon for her performance in ‘Mimi’.

Speaking of Alia Bhatt, the actress took to social media and shared her happiness over the big win today. She posted, To Sanjay Sir.. To the entire crew.. To my family.. To my team & last but most definitely not the least To my audience.. This national award is yours .. because without you ALL none of this would be possible.. seriously!!! I am SO grateful .. I do not take moments like these lightly.. I hope to continue to entertain for as long as I can.. Love and light.. Gangu (also known as alia)”.

Besides the many praises and wishes, there was also Alia Bhatt’s mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor, who posted, ‘So so proud of you Alia Bhatt for your first national award. God bless’.

Alia Bhatt, also made it a point to wish Kriti Sanon, who also won the ‘Best Actress’ award for her spectacular role in ‘Mimi’. Alia, in her heartfelt post, added, ‘P.S - Kriti .. I remember messaging you the day I saw Mimi .. it was such an honest and powerful performance... I cried and cried... so so well deserved.. shine on you star… the world is your oyster”.
