69th National Film Awards: SS Rajamouli congratulates Alia Bhatt, quotes dialogue from Gangubai Kathiawadi

The much-awaited 69th National Film Awards have finally been announced and the Best Actor (Female) Award has been bagged by two leading Bollywood divas. Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon have shared the prestigious title this time for their outstanding work in Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi respectively.

Meanwhile, post the announcement of the awards, a lot of actors, filmmakers were seen celebrating their wins as well as congratulating their fellow celebrities. Soon after Alia bagged the Best Actor Award, S S Rajamouli congratulated the actor in a very unique way. The ace Indian filmmaker took to Twitter, posted a quote from the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial and wished the diva by calling her Seetha (from RRR).

The tweet reads, "Gangu chaand thi, aur chaand hi rahegi… Congratulations to our Seetha, @aliaa08 for winning the coveted prize for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Directed by Bhansali, the 2022 biographical crime drama film also features Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, and Jim Sarbh in key roles along with Ajay Devgn in a special cameo appearance. Bankrolled by Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada, Gangubai Kathiawadi is available to stream on Netflix.

On the other hand, Kriti starrer Mimi was released in 2021. The Laxman Utekar directorial was backed by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films and also featured Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa, Supriya Pathak, Evelyn Edwards, Aidan Whytock and Jaya Bhattacharya. The social comedy-drama is available to stream on Netflix.
