It's been 30 years since Superstar Rajinikanth's blockbuster film, Annamalai, hit screens. The film, directed by Suresh Krissna, starring Rajinikanth, Khushbu, Sarath Babu, Radha Ravi, Nizhalgal Ravi and Manorama, released in 1992, went on to become one of Rajinikanth's biggest hits. The film was bankrolled by Kavithayala Productions. Interestingly, this is also the first film to have introduced the iconic Superstar Rajinikanth title card in the beginning of the film.

Anirudh Ravichander, who calls himself a huge fan of the Superstar, too, shared the excitement on the film completing 30 years of release. The Vikram music director called Annamalai the first ever movie he watched and his favourite, too. He said that he still watched the film, everytime he felt like motivating himself. Taking to his social media page, Anirudh wrote, "GOAT ๐Ÿ The first film I watched and most fav film ever.. Still watch it regularly to motivate myself.. #Annamalai is an emotion to me.. Thank you Thalaiva @rajinikanth @Suresh_Krissna @KavithalayaaOff ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป (sic)."

Music for the film was by Deva. Annamalai is said to have run in the theatres for 175 days and emerged as one of the biggest grossers of the times. After the film become a success, Rajinkanth, Suresh Krissna and Deva came together for yet another blockbuster Baasha and Baashha overtook the record.Suresh Krissna met Rajinikanth recently to celebrate the occasion and the pictures of the duo did the rounds on social media.

Fans have also been celebrating the same by sharing pictures, videos and their favourite memories of the film.Director Arun Vaidyanathan wrote on his social media handle, "My favorite Rajini sir film Annamalai celebrates 30 years today. I think this film is the best template for MASS with a great scope for performance. Father Rajini advising daughter patiently and slowly gets into a rage is pure agmark Rajinism. SureshKrishna sir & team...Hats off! (sic)."
