Mann completes 25 years of its release
Indra Kumar released his romantic drama Mann 25 years ago. The 1999 film features Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala in the lead roles, their second outing after Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995). An Affair to Remember the 1957 film, is the primary inspiration for Mann. Anil Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore, and Neeraj Vora star in supporting roles, with Rani Mukerji making a cameo appearance. Mann basic premise
In the basic premise, one of the strangers who fell in love on the cruise doesn't show up for the six-month meeting after they've settled into their jobs and romantic relationships back home. While cruising from Singapore to India, Priya (Manisha) wins a foreign trip on a luxury ship. Shortly after boarding, she meets the talented playboy Dev (Aamir), and the two quickly fall in love. They are both engaged, but not to one another. They knew this going in, yet they still planned to meet up again a year after the cruise ended. They may remember their vow or romance after a year, but they move on.

After its release, Mann received positive feedback. Despite mostly positive reviews Sanjeev-Darshan's score has come under fire for what some see as instances of plagiarism. They composed the score, and Sameer Anjaan wrote the lyrics. Some claimed that they lifted most of the tunes from other artists' songs without giving proper credit.
Allegations of plagiarism
Nasha Yeh Pyar Ka borrows its melody from Toto Cutugno's L'Italiano; Tinak Tin Tana is sampled from Iwan's Yang Sedang Sedang Saja; Chaha Hai Tujhko borrows its lyrics from S. A. Rajkumar's Edho Oru Paatu in Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen (1998); Khushiyan Aur Gham is sampled from Ricchi e Poveri's Come Vorrei; and Kali Nagin Ke Jaisi is sampled from Dahmane El Harrachi's Ya Rayah. Of Jars of Clay's Liquid the opening forty seconds of Kehna Hai Tumse were cut.
