After working on multiple films together, Paoli and Parambrata Chatterjee are back together again. However, this time, it is a different medium: an audio series. Directed by Utsav Mukherjee, the Spotify original series, 2063 Theke Aschi was premiered on January 29.
Based on Julio Rojas’ Case 63, the science fiction piece is a conversation between two human beings from two different periods. The series delves into the lives of Nandini Mitra – a psychologist, and Ranjan Chattopadhyay – a man, who has come from a period 40 years after today’s time. He comes to save the world from a disaster. Will Nandini believe him? Or will she think that Ranjan needs medical help? All will be explained in a 10-episode-long thriller.
This is the first time Utsav will be directing an audio series. He has also penned the script of the show. He said that he followed the Hindi and English script and added a few sequences of his own. That has added a new dimension to the Bengali piece.
The demand for audio content is rising in Bengal. Utsav agreed to it and said, “I grew up listening to radio. We also were used to the storytelling sessions frin our grandparents. Storytelling was a popular form of entertainment even during the time FM came. Meanwhile, big names like Parambrata and Paoli will attract many more listeners.”
Case 63 earned popularity worldwide. In Howllywood, Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac have lent their voice for the series. In Hindi, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadda performed it. Along with Parambrata and Paoli, Kalpan Mitra, Kamaleswar Mukhopadhyay and Chitrangada Satarupa are also part of the show.
