2018 Movie: Kannada dubbed trailer of Tovino Thomas' blockbuster out on THIS date
Looks like the power of word-of-mouth publicity has propelled Jude Anthany Joseph's 2018 to unprecedented heights. Having already delivered incredible results at the Kerala box office, the Tovino Thomas-led Malayalam film is all set to be dubbed and released in four different languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The team, as we speak, is currently engrossed in the task of skilfully dubbing the film and ensuring that it gets the desired wide release across the country.
And the first step in this pursuit seems to be the release of the trailer of the dubbed versions, which will happen on Wednesday (May 18) at 6 pm. The team took to social media recently to emphatically announce that four new trailers of 2018 will be out ahead of the planned theatrical releases.
Previously, the makers had disclosed that the Hindi version of the film will release on May 12 but those plans evidently fell through. The new release date of the dubbed versions is yet to be confirmed but the current buzz suggests that it could be Friday, May 20.

What was initially billed as a sole Malayalam release, 2018 opened in theatres on May 5 to a unanimously positive response. Though the initial box office figures did not reflect the audience's adoration, the film continued to witness massive jumps in its box office collections over the next few days. Thanks to an incredible overseas run that 2018 managed to cross the Rs. 100 crores within ten days of its release. The film is set to become the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time by going past Prithviraj Sukumaran's Lucifer (starring Mohanlal).
Many would remember that not very long ago, Rishab Shetty's Kantara found similar overwhelming success to emerge as one of the biggest sleeper hits of recent times. Though the makers, Hombale Films, hadn't intended on dubbing the film in other languages, the superb reviews compelled them to later release it in a grand manner in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Anil Thadani of AA Films distributed Kantara Hindi whereas Allu Aravind's GA2 Pictures took care of the Telugu version. Prithviraj Sukumaran distributed the Malayalam version.
