Dil Raju, a popular distributor then, forayed into film production with the action entertainer Dil, a runaway success
With nearly 70% success rate in his productions, over 50 films, several awards, fame and immense love from audiences, leading producer Dil Raju’s banner Sri Venkateswara Creations has completed two decades in the film industry. The banner, which forayed into film production with Nithiin starrer Dil, has produced several successful films in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi over these years.
Dil Raju has produced some of the finest Telugu films in these two decades - Arya, Parugu, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Bommarillu, Shatamanam Bhavathi, Gaganam, Yevadu, Fidaa, Kotha Bangaru Lokam - to name a few. He made a mark in Tamil cinema this year with Varisu and has produced several credible Hindi films including Jersey, Hit: The First Case as well.
He’s a rare Telugu producer who places a firm control over his budgets, has a good taste for stories, knack for introducing new talent, while backing several content driven films and star vehicles too. While he continues to oversee the functioning of his production house, he is gradually grooming his daughter Hanshitha Reddy and nephew Harshith Reddy to take charge of its future.
Dil Raju, his brother Shirish, on Wednesday, met Nithiin, director VV Vinayak, thanking them for giving a memorable start to their banner two decades ago. “Can’t believe…It's been 20 years since Dil released, and I still remember the excitement of being a part of such a fantastic movie.Thank you Dil Raju garu, VV Vinayak garu and the entire team for making this journey possible!!,” Nithiin wrote, while sharing the picture.
Starring Nithiin, Neha, Chalapathi Rao, Prakash Raj and others, Dil, directed by VV Vinayak, was a huge success at the box office and had a terrific album by RP Patnaik. After scoring a hit like Jayam, it gave a strong foundation to the career of Nithiin. Meanwhile, Dil Raju’s immediate projects as a producer include Gamechanger with Ram Charan and Selfish, starring his nephew Ashish.
