In the film, unbeknownst to Manoj's (Irrfan) family Asmi (Juhi) blackmails him into installing hidden cameras in his house so she may save her profession. The revelation of his family's secrets makes him understand his error.

As a major TV network enters the next phase of programming, "Reality TV," they choose the timeless topic of Indian family weddings after finding enormous success with soaps based on traditional families. For the show's production, Channel approaches their blue-eyed man. The first-time director, Asmi Ganatra (Juhi Chawla), and her team discover that, currently, Joshi's family is the only one in Mumbai that matches the requirements of the programming brief.
The Joshis are shocked when Asmi pays them a visit and inquires about her ability to cover the wedding for TV. The family's Mafia, playing on the pride of the old guard, vetoes the proposal despite the bride's father's approval. Manoj Joshi is the bride's youngest uncle, and Asmi has just learned that he has feelings for her.
She knows that if she couldn't seal the deal with the bride's family, her career would be in jeopardy, so she tricks him into helping her covertly install a multicamera setup in the mansion.
Manoj is horrified to learn that he has unleashed the cursed box of secrets. He is unaware that covert cameras are recording his family. Little by little, secrets begin to emerge. Candorous cameras pry into Joshi's family's personal life, bringing to light scandals that the channel may use to boost their viewers with juicy tidbits.
