12th Fail - Vikrant Massey starrer achieves IMDb milestone, becomes India's top-rated film

Vikrant Massey's much talked-about film 12th Fail is directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

12th Fail, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and starring Vikrant Massey is now the highest-rated Indian film on IMDb. The biographical drama has taken the top spot on IMDb's list of the best 250 Indian films, earning an impressive 9.2 out of 10. The 1993 animated film Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama, Mani Ratnam's Nayakan, Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Gol Maal, and R Madhavan's feature debut Rocketry: The Nambi Effect are among the other noteworthy movies in the top five.

12th Fail has a rating of 9.2, which puts it ahead of some of the biggest and most highly anticipated Hollywood blockbusters of 2023, such as Gret Gerwig's Barbie (6.9), starring Margot Robbie, John Wick: Chapter 4 (7.7), Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (rated 8.6), Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer (8.4), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (7.9), and Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon (7.8).

12th Fail, which is based on Anurag Pathak's book and stars Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar, tells the narrative of Manoj Kumar Sharma. Sharma overcame extreme poverty to become an officer in the Indian Police Service. The movie illuminates his path, emphasizing the critical part his spouse, IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, played in his accomplishments.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Vikrant Massey talked about taking some tips or training from the real-life Manoj Kumar Sharma, the actor had said, "I took a lot of tips from him. He only used to have time on weekends and us samay mai unka bahot dimag khaya karta tha. Vinod sir made sure that I was doing that exercise because I was portraying someone real, someone who is living in flesh and blood. so we want to justify his character. But he was very kind, He never complained, he always patted my shoulder."

With a global gross of Rs 67 cr, 12th Fail became the year's unexpected hit. The film is currently streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar and it has received an amazing response from viewers.
