120 Bahadur announcement: Farhan Akhtar embodies heroism in Battle of Rezang La for new war epic

With great pleasure, Farhan Akhtar announced the release of his upcoming movie 120 Bahadur which is based on the lives of Maj. Shaitan Singh PVC and the members of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment. Excel Entertainment (Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar) and Trigger Happy Studios (Amit Chandrra) produced the movie. After appearing in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Toofaan, the filmmaker-actor is returning to the screen after a wait of more than three years.

Film inspired by the Battle of Rezang La

In the film, the Battle of Rezang La, in which Indian troops showed extraordinary bravery, sacrifice, and heroism during the Indo-China War of 1962, serves as the inspiration for this military action picture. Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios unveiled two intriguing motion posters, introducing Farhan as Maj Shaitan Singh PVC. Today in Ladakh, filming will commence for the first time.

Farhan Akhtar, known for his powerful cinematic personas over the years, shared excitement to play the part of Maj Shaitan Singh PVC. Highlighting the sacrifices made by India's armed services during this important historical time, his portrayal of the Major's exceptional bravery and leadership promises to resonate deeply.

Razneesh "Razy" Ghai directs and previous work highlight

Razneesh "Razy" Ghai is directing the upcoming film 120 Bahadur. In addition to entertaining, the film's breathtaking images and compelling plot serve as a fitting tribute to the bravery of India's military personnel. The film promises to offer a moving look at the sacrifices made by heroes of the armed forces.

Moreover, Razy came to the limelight in 2022 when he helmed the spy-thriller Dhaakad which featured Kangana Ranaut in an action-packed role. Unfortunately, the film failed to make an impressive mark on the audience upon its release.

Farhan Akhtar's return to acting and directorial projects

On the other hand, Farhan is returning to acting while simultaneously making his directorial comeback with Don 3 which stars Ranveer Singh in the title role. The filmmaker-actor also has Jee Le Zaraa as a helmer in his kitty.
