11 years of Singam 2: The franchise includes three parts with consistent success, sparking talks of a potential fourth installment.
Singam is one of the successful film franchises to have come out from Tamil cinema. Headlined by Suriya, the second part of the film has clocked 11 years since its initial release in 2013. It has been 11 years since the release of Suriya-starrer Singam 2. Directed by filmmaker Hari and produced by S. Lakshman Kumar under Prince Pictures banner, the film is the second instalment of the cop action-drama film franchise Singam, created by Hari. The film is available for streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium.
Apart from Suriya, the film also stars Danny Sapani, Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Mukesh Rishi, Rahman, Santhanam and Vivek, among others. The music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, while cinematography and editing were handled by Priyan and V. T. Vijayan respectively.
Singam follows the life of police official Durai Singam who is straightforward man trying to weed out bad seeds from the society. Suriya plays the lead role, and the franchise eventually became a success in the actor’s career.

So far, Singam consists of three instalments. While predominantly the cast remained the same, the storylines and new characters were introduced each time. In 2017, Si3, the third part was released, with new cast members, including actors Shruti Haasan, Thakur Anoop Singh, Sarath Babu, Sharat Saxena, Jayaprakash, Suman and others.
Recently Hari had opened up about making the fourth part of the film franchise . "I am not sure how the fourth part in the Singam 4 would be. I would love to do a cop story again and I am working on the story. I will begin with its screenplay after Rathnam, but I am not sure if it will be Singam 4. I am not sure how a fourth part would be after doing three films together in a franchise. I feel a hattrick would be perfect,” he had said.
