1001 Nunakal, the Malayalam indie drama helmed by the debutant Thamar KV is currently streaming on an OTT platform. The film is a direct OTT release after It got its first screening at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) 2022. Written by Hashim Sulaiman and Thamar KV, the film stars many new faces like Vidhya Vijayakumar, Zhinz Shan, Rashmi K Nair, Shamla Hamza, Sudeep Koshy, Sudeesh K Scaraia along with the O. Baby actor Vishnu Agasthya. Remya Suresh known for Padavettu, Njan Prakashan, and Saudi Vellakka plays a pivotal role in 1001 Nunakal.
The film which is an intriguing drama set in an apartment is currently streaming on Sony LIV.

What is 1001 Nunakal about?
The film is set at a wedding anniversary celebration for an affluent couple. Their long-time friends, which include four couples and a lawyer, are a part of the celebrations. The guests, who come from different financial backgrounds, have distinct views on subjects like marriage and trust in marriage.
They all play a game of truth or dare during the party. According to the rules of the game, each person is supposed to reveal a lie they have told their partners. As the game progresses, some secrets emerge, and things get out of control.
Standout performances
1001 Nunakal deals with the issues in Malayali marriages and themes like trust in marriages. The performances of the actors and the gripping screenplay have been lauded by audiences. Remya Suresh, who plays a maid, and Sudeesh Scaria as the divorce lawyer are the standout performers.
Even though the cast has mostly fresh faces, the technical department of the film has experienced personalities like Jithin Stanislaus as the cameraman and Nishad Yusuf as the editor.
