Thamar KV's upcoming drama film, 1001 Nunakal, revolves around the events that take place during a wedding anniversary celebration. The film garnered positive responses at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) 2022. In an interview, the director revealed that the success of Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam, helmed by Senna Hegde, gave him the confidence to cast fresh faces in his debut film.

'Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam gave me the confidence I needed'

When asked if he was afraid to cast new faces in his film, Thamar told the YouTube channel Prime Media Production, "While I knew that my film wouldn't have the glamour that big stars and familiar faces bring, I was not deterred from sticking to the original casting choices. I was convinced by the freshness of the subject, and the success and appreciation that films like Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam received at IFFK and on OTT platforms only further encouraged me. Ultimately, I believe that the quality of the content is what truly matters. As long as my film entertains and connects with audiences, I am confident that they will embrace it," Thamar said.

He also added that 1001 Nunakal is about the lives of six couples who live in Dubai. But it is not about migrant lives; instead, the film focuses on the characters.

The story of 1001 Nunakal begins with a couple finding shelter in their friend's home after a fire incident. The affluent family invites them to their wedding anniversary party. As the festivities commence and friends gather, a game of truth or dare is proposed. The rules require each player to reveal a lie that they have told their partner.
