Actress Sri Divya took to her social media handle to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her landmark film, Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam. The actress dropped a couple of latest pictures of her in a sari, along with the hashtag #10yearsofVVS. Here's a look at five reasons to watch the film.

A laugh riot
The film, which also starred a number of actors in comic roles, including Soori, Sathyaraj, Rajendran, Thavasi and Vinodini Vaidyanathan to name a few, was a laugh riot from the word go. The punchlines from almost the entire cast continue to be repeated even today, ten years after the film's release. The film was set in the fictional village of Silukkuvarpatti. Inspired by the film, a film titled Silukkuvarupatti Singam was released later.

Sivakarthikeyan and Soori combo
One of the highlights of the film was the combination scenes between Boss Pandi (Sivakarthikeyan) and his friend Kodi (Soori). Right from the way the two lead the 'sangam' as president and secretary to pulling each other's leg in multiple scenes, the combo was an ultimate hit. The duo went on to work in a number of films later.

Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, a cult hit
The film is considered as a milestone in Sivakarthikeyan's career, which also catapulted him into a bankable star. It was released in more than 500 theatres worldwide and was well received by the audience. Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam is said to have collected more than Rs 3 crore on the day of its release.

Music by Imman
The film's album comprised the super hit number, Oodha Colour Ribbon, Indha Ponnungale and Paarkaathe Paarkaathe. Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam was one of the biggest hits of composer Imman.

Sivakarthikeyan and Sri Divya as onscreen couple
The film marked the maiden venture between the adorable onscreen couple Sivakarthikeyan and Sri Divya. Their adorable chemistry in the film was such a hit that they went on to work again in Kaaki Sattai (2015).
