Kaththi, the blockbuster film which features Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, completed 10 years of its release. The AR Murugadoss directorial hit the theatres on October 22, 2014.
Thalapathy Vijay and AR Murugadoss joined hands in 2014, for the blockbuster film Kaththi. The movie, which featured Tamil cinema’s crowd puller in a double role, earned immense love from both the audiences and critics, and was called the perfect entertainer. Samantha Ruth Prabhu played the female lead in the film, which emerged as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of that time. Kaththi, which hit the theatres on October 22, 2014, has now completed 10 years of its release.
If you wish to revisit Kaththi, the blockbuster film is currently available for streaming on multiple OTT platforms. The original Tamil version of the much-celebrated Thalapathy Vijay starrer is currently available for streaming, on popular OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. The dubbed Hindi version of the AR Murugadoss directorial, which has been titled Khakhi Aur Khiladi, is currently streaming on both Zee5 and OTTplay Premium.

The social action-drama film revolves around Kathiresan aka Kathir, a prisoner who escapes jail, and plans to leave the country along with his friend Ravi. But soon he changes his plan after falling for Ankita. Later, Kathir encounters his look-alike Jeevanandham aka Jeeva, a kind-hearted communist man who runs an old age home and saves him from getting killed. After admitting Jeeva to the hospital, Karthi impersonates him to escape the police. As he takes over Jeeva's responsibilities, his life takes a different turn.

Thalapathy Vijay played the roles of Kathir and Jeeva in the film, which features Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Ankita. Kaththi features a stellar star cast including Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Sathish, Sudip Mukherjee, Rama, Jeeva Ravi, Anu Krishna, and others in the supportin roles. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music score. George C Williams and A Sreekar Prasad handled the cinematography and editing, respectively. Kaththi is produced by Allirajah Subaskaran, under the prestigious banner, Lyca Productions.
