Secret Superstar

Secret Superstar is a 2017 Indian Hindi - language film directed by Advait Chandan. It is a musical drama film starring Zaira Wasim, Aamir Khan, Meher Vij and raj Arjun. The movie follows the story of a 15-year-old girl named Insia Malik. She belongs from a Muslim family and lives in Baroda along with her mother, brother, grand – mother and an abusive father. Insia is a talented singer but her father doesn’t allow her to sing. Therefore, she starts a singing youtube channel under the name of Secret Superstar keeping her identity a secret. She uses her laptop that is gifted by her mother secretly. She becomes an overnight sensation and a famous music director, Shakti Kumar wants to work with her. However, she refuses due to his tarnished image. But, later agrees as she wants financial support and also wants to meet the lawyer who won the divorce case against Shakti. She wants to get her parents divorced and free her mother from all the abuses. Therefore, she goes to Mumbai with the help of her friend and vows to make her mother’s life better and free of hardships.
