In OTTplay's exclusive interview, Ridhi Dogra spoke about the delay in her film The Sabarmati Report's release. The film finally hit the silver screen on November 15, 2024.
Ridhi Dogra recently starred in filmmaker Dheeraj Sarna's movie, The Sabarmati Report. The film, based on the 2002 Sabarmati Express train burning incident in Godhra, also featured Vikrant Massey and Raashii Khanna. In the film, Ridhi essayed the character of senior journalist Manika Rajpurohit. The actress' film hit the big screen on November 15, 2024. Now, in an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Ridhi recalled the time The Sabarmati Report faced few delays in its theatrical release.
The Sabarmati Report was initially scheduled to be released in cinemas on May 3, 2024. It was later postponed to August 2 and the film was eventually released last Friday (November 15). When asked if the multiple delays affected the team's morale, Ridhi Dogra told us, "I don't think so! We did our work and it only gave us time to make our film a little better. Edit pe thodi zyada samay rahi (it remained on the edit for a while) and we could make it crisper. We took it in our stride."

The actress further mentioned, "I don't get perturbed by delays. I am used to it. Asur (her web series), too, got released much later after we shot it. I am used to projects getting delayed. (It is okay) as long as the producers, who put in money, they should not lose money."
Ridhi believes if a film's topic is relevant to a certain time, it should be out for audiences to watch. "Aisa nahi hona chahiye ki film bas padi hui hai, and it isn't getting released. Luckily, our (film) topic was taken from a true incident, I feel it could've been relevant hume jab bhi sunate. So that wasn't a problem," added Dogra.
The Sabarmati Report was initially being helmed by Ranjan Chandel. He was later replaced by Dheeraj Sarna as the film's director. Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Vipin Agnihotri Film, and Vikir Films Production, the film will be available for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium after its theatrical run.
