Actress Saaanve Megghana, who made several heads turn with her impactful performances in Bilalpur Police Station, the Netflix anthology Pitta Kathalu and Akhil Akkineni's Most Eligible Bachelor recently, is playing a key role in Pushpaka Vimanam, slated to release on November 12. The film written and directed by debutant Damodara features her alongside Anand Deverakonda, Geeth Saini, Kireeti, Sunil and others. Govardhan Rao Deverakonda, Vijay Mattapally, Pradeep Errabelli have bankrolled Pushpaka Vimanam. Ahead of the release, the actress opened up about the film in a media interaction.

The Hyderabad-born girl, who hails from a conservative Telugu speaking family, wasn't encouraged to make a career in films. As a student, she was witness to many shoots on the college premises and was also approached to act in television soaps initially. Apparently, actress Jayasudha had even come forward to cast her in one of the television shows that she was producing. Though the parents gave their approval for Megghana to act in it, the show failed to take off for miscellaneous reasons.

She was destined to don the greasepaint however and grew step by step in the industry later, with her roles in Most Eligible Bachelor, Pitta Kathalu being her claim to fame. "Surender Reddy cast me in Sye Raa without even taking an audition and complimented me that I looked like Tamannaah's sister. I was flattered. Tharun Bhascker had auditioned me after I did Sye Raa and gave me a role in his short in Pitta Kathalu. He was the one to refer me as a second lead in Pushpaka Vimanam as well. The director Damodara took an audition soon and I was on board immediately," Megghana says.

Talking about her part in Pushpaka Vimanam, Megghana adds, "I play the role of a short-film actress in the film. She's a vivacious girl who'll grab your eyeballs immediately. I and Geeth Saini have roles that are quite contrasting from the quintessential heroine characters. The film is entirely plot-driven and has an extremely entertaining first half and an emotional second hour. I am not supposed to reveal how is my character related to Anand Deverakonda. All that I can say is I was very a satisfied performer when I watched the film."

The actress claims to be a fangirl of Sridevi and is game to do a wide variety of characters, provided the right opportunities come by. "I don't want to confine myself to a certain type of roles and take up challenges. I got a lot of offers after the release of Pitta Kathalu. I had given a nod to Pushpaka Vimanam already then and later, the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic took over. I didn't accept any web shows later. I am in talks for a few projects. I will announce them when the time is right," she signs off.
