Mahima Chaudhry recently featured in the ZEE5 film The Signature. In OTTplay's interview, Mahima revealed how Anupam Kher motivated her to do the movie.
Mahima Chaudhry made a comeback with a film called The Signature. Eight years after Dark Chocolate, Mahima starred in the ZEE5 film with Anupam Kher. The Signature opened to positive feedback upon its digital release. Chaudhry played the role of Ambika in Gajendra Ahire's movie, which was released on October 4. In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Mahima revealed how Anupam Kher motivated her to be a part of The Signature.
During an interaction with us, Mahima said it was Anupam Kher who suggested she do The Signature. The actress agreed to do it but requested the veteran actor to wait for a few months or a year for the shoot. "He asked me 'Why do you want me to wait?' I told him that I had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment. (I said) I don't even have hair or eyebrows. He said that shouldn't stop you. He said 'In between when you have a break, let's go and shoot this film'," revealed Mahima.

The actress further shared, "I said I don't know if I can and (told him) I want to look a certain way when I come back and I want to look beautiful. But he said, 'No! We will shoot it like this'. He had the confidence. (He said) 'Look at me! Nobody thought I would be doing so many films without hair and I have lasted for so long. Don't depend on looks, be an actor. You should be able to stir emotions with your performance, not with the way you look'."
Then, Mahima put up a brave front and shot for the film. The actress didn't think of it as her comeback but considered it as the best form to distract herself.
While shooting for The Signature, Mahima wanted to look at herself in the mirror but co-star Anupam Kher stopped her. "I felt so tempted even there to keep going to see how I am looking. But he did not allow it and said 'You will not look at yourself'. I said everyone takes a look at themselves even when they take small shots of themselves in privacy or when they take a selfie they put a filter. I told him to allow me but he refused. He asked me to have confidence in the director. So, I left it at that," she said and signed off.
