Vandana Pathak plays the role of Jayshree in Khichdi. The actress recalled the time her character got emotional talking about her late husband on the show.
Khichdi started off as a TV show in 2002. A few years later, the makers treated the audience to it in the form of a film, which was titled Khichdi: The Movie. Nearly 13 years down the line, the second installment of Khichdi (film) is coming back. During the promotions of Khichdi 2 - Mission Paanthukistan OTTplay exclusively interviewed the film's star cast - Supriya Pathak, JD Majethia, Vandana Pathak, Anang Desai, Rajeev Mehta, and director Aatish Kapadia.
In conversation with us, Vandana Pathak opened up about a lesser-known fact about her character Jayshree Parekh. For the unversed, Jayshree is the daughter-in-law of Tulsidas Parekh (played by Anang Desai).
Vandana Pathak talks about Jayshree from Khichdi
When asked to share a lesser-known fact about her character, Vandana Pathak revealed, "Jayshree had a husband. I had a scene in Khichdi where she talks about her husband. It was the only scene where she gets emotional about it, as she talks about her husband. And after that, kabhi nahi bataya gaya ki kya hai, kya nahi."
For the unversed, Jayshree's late husband, Bharat, was Tulsidas Parekh's younger son. It is shown that Jayshree also has a son, Jacky.
Spilling more beans about her character, the actress added, "The thing about Jayshree is that she may be manipulative but she will never let anything happen to her family members. Vo ek dhaal banke khadi rahegi. She has emotions within her. She has never let others see it. Jayshree is a full package of everything - shielding her emotions which we have not shown in the film."
