Hemang Shah also spoke about working as the second or third lead in films.
Gujarati actor Hemang Shah, last seen in Karsandas Pay & Use opposite Deeksha Joshi and Mayur Chauhan, is now back with the latter. The two, in fact, play brothers once again in the latest web series cutting. In the show, they work as hairdressers who run a salon.
Confirming that it feels like homecoming, Hemang told OTTplay, “Yes, he is playing my big brother again so we got flashbacks about the time when we were shooting for Karsandas Pay & Use.”
He also shared that the two actually experimented and learnt how to trim hair. The duo experimented with the assistant directors (ADs) of the show.
“We did a workshop for movements and properties used in a salon. We also went to a salon and worked closely with professionals. We trimmed our AD’s hair. The professionals trained us very well,” the actor informed.
An excited and yet shy Hemang marks his web series debut with Cutting. Talking about how he is feeling about it, he shared, “It’s a good feeling to work with Oho (Gujarati, the OTT platform where Cutting released), who is coming out with so many series. One of them is ours and that was quite a fun project.”
Hemang has interestingly only played a second or third lead in his projects so far. The same happens with Cutting too, where Mayur plays the lead role. Ask him about the same and he laughs and adds, “Nothing like that. I just look for challenging characters, rather than first or second lead.”
Hemang will next be seen in Gandhi and Company, an untitled web series and To Be Or Not To Be. “I’m also in talks for a few series and films,” he signed off.
