The Tejas Vijay Deoskar directorial releases on ZEE5 on January 20.
Rakul Preet Singh's Chhatriwali is all set to release on ZEE5. Directed by Tejas Vijay Deoskar, the upcoming social comedy openly talks about sex education, female health, contraceptives and more.
During a candid chat with OTTplay, the actor shared that Chhatriwali advocates safe sex education that nobody talks about. Meanwhile, she also unveiled why the makers chose it to be a comedy genre.
Talking about Chhatriwali being a comedy, Rakul shared, "Because you don't want to preach to anybody the main end of the film is to entertain people to have a good story. And that's what you know, our endeavour is. You can't have a thriller genre film for telling something which is so you know, sensitive. So you have to, you know, you give harsh medicines to kids with like chocolate or fruit or wrap it up. So you have to present the content in a way that people will consume it and be comfortable consuming it you have to be sensitive about certain things that we do understand there are parts of the society that are not comfortable in these conversations.
"So you have to create that world of comfort for them, because it is important for society and entertain them because at least for entertainment, they will watch and hopefully have a change of mind," she added.
