The composer has penned lyrics for the first time for a one-minute-long music video for Instagram.
Jeet Gannguli has penned lyrics for a short music video for the first time. He has also composed the tune. The music video is no more than one minute long and according to the makers, it will be published on Instagram. In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Jeet opens up about the new project, his idea of a micro music video and a lot more.
On Monday, Jeet Gannguli was awarded Banga Bhushan by the government of West Bengal. The musician got busy on Tuesday shooting a micro music video with Falaque Rashid Roy and John Bhattacharyya. The one-minute-long song is penned and composed by Jeet. ‘It is aimed to be posted on social media and for the youngsters,” said the Suno Na Sangemarmar composer. The video is directed by Baba Yadav.
Jeet informed that the song has a rustic feel with a disco touch in it. “It can be played at the discos and can also be liked by people who are inclined towards Baul music,” he said. Explaining the modalities of one-minute-long music, he said, “It does matter how long or short it is, the music has to be good.” He further explained, “There was a time when people only used to play and enjoy test cricket. Then ODI came and then came the T20. But that could not deter the spirit of test cricket. Short music videos will come and will also be appreciated. But the love for old classics will always remain the same,” he said.
Jeet also said that he enjoyed the process of making the video. “One minute was a challenge. But I have done a lot of ad jingles. I am used to the 10-second cut and 20-second cut. So I really enjoyed the process of the video,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jeet is also touched by the Banga Bhushan award he received. “I am from Bengal and hence, any recognition from this state is very special to me,” he said.
