The actor opens us about his journey in his latest Zee5 show.
Indraneil Sengupta is all set to become the newest Feluda – the iconic Bengali detective character – in Sandip Ray’s next, Hatyapuri. The actor’s recent OTT outing in Zee5’s The Broken News, which features Sonali Bendre, Jaideep Ahlawat and Shriya Pilgaokar in the lead, has been appreciated by the audience. In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, the actor talked about his experience of working at the show.
Talking about Sonali, he said, “She is a very nice and warm woman. I have recently worked with Raveena Tandon in Aranyak and I have been saying that I worked with two very beautiful people in the industry. Sonali used to come and greet people at the set personally. After a shot, I would sit somewhere and read she would sit right next to me and I wouldn’t even know. She would sit and do her things.”
Talking about her works, Indraneil said, “Sonali knew that she was back in front of the camera after a while and a lot of changes had taken place. She was always eager to learn and understand how things are done now. She was anxious and her openness to understand the new things amazed me. In a way, it was a challenge for her and she was always ready to push herself.”
Indraneil worked with Vinay Waikul in Aranyak. “I knew the director. I worked with Shriya in Voot’s The Gone Game. I knew Jaideep from before. So it was a familiar unit. My character is also very real. Sonali as Amina Sheikh is an idealist. Shriya is an idealist too. I am the one who is level-headed. Hence, it’s easy. In the show, I haven’t conducted interviews. I am a news producer and Amina’s friend and confidant. My character is the most real in the show,” the actor said.
