Shefali Shah plays a neurosurgeon in Human and a gynecologist in Doctor G.
Shefali Shah stunned everyone with her incredible performance in Hotstar Specials: Human. In the series, the actor portrays the role of Dr. Gauri Nath, who is a neurosurgeon with grey shades. In her forthcoming film, Doctor G Shefali will once again be seen playing the role of a doctor, but this time as a gynaecologist. Ahead of Human's release, the actor exclusively spoke to OTTplay about the series and assured us that her character has nothing in common with that of Doctor G.
Shefali told us, "Doctor G and Human have nothing in common. When you see shows, for example, if you're seeing preprocedural shows, okay? So, like I'm watching Fargo and watching Dublin Murders and Broadchurch they're all pre-procedures, but that does not mean they are similar shows. So just because I play a doctor in Doctor G, it has nothing to do with humanity. Secondly, they are two different people; it is just their profession. Yes, you asked me what it is. So, Doctor G, I'm a gynaecologist and here, I'm a neurologist. But that's about it. That does not explain anything about who Gauri Nath is or who I am as Doctor G."
The actor further said, "Also in Human we are full-fledged characters. I'm not saying it's not in Doctor G. I don't want to discuss Doctor G because this is about humans. So I'll talk about that when we come to that. But these are complete characters. Yes, being a doctor is an integral part of who she is, but there's way more to her."
She concluded by stating, "Human is not just about the medical world, human drug trials, or the underbelly of the world. It's also about the complexities of these people's lives, their interpersonal relationships and conflicts, all of them. So just to say how I treated it differently, in one I'm doing brain surgery and in the other, I'm delivering a child."
In Human the actor is seen alongside Kirti Kulhari and Vishal Jethwa. While Doctor G features Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles.
