While Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Belashuru was released on Friday, its song ‘Tapa Tini’ has already gone viral on social media for a while now. Recently, actress Monami Ghosh, who plays the character of Piu in the film, was seen grooving to the tune of the song with a bunch of SpiceJet cabin crew members at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata.

“We shot the film at the end of 2018, and ever since I heard the song, I knew it would be a super-duper hit. However, I had no idea that it would eventually turn into a viral sensation,” Monami told OTTplay in an exclusive chat.

Talking about the flashmob at the airport, she said, “It was planned and executed seamlessly. Only the crew members, who participated, and a few more officials knew about the performance. As we started performing, everybody was at a standstill. It was an amazing moment. It was perfectly executed by the Windows team.”

While talking about the shooting schedule of Belashuru Monami said, “We had a shooting schedule at Bolpur. I remember I started working on a television project during the same time. And I used to travel every day to Bolpur, 160 km from Kolkata, to shoot and come back to attend the TV shooting the next day. This crazy schedule went on for a while. However, ever since we worked in Bela Seshe, the entire team became a family. We kept in touch all these years. In Belashuru, we shot with the same set of people at the same locations and in the same houses. It was like a family outing for all of us.”

Belashuru a sequel of Shiboprosad and Nandita’s 2015 hit, Bela Seshe, was shot in 2018 and was initially scheduled to release in May 2020. However, the film's release was postponed due to the pandemic. While Belashuru is currently running in theatres, Bela Seshe is available on Amazon Prime and Hoichoi for online streaming.
