After playing Khilat in Srijit Mukherji’s futuristic love story X=Prem, Anindya Sengupta is all geared up for the web series Kholam Kuchi for Ritwick Chakraborty and Pradipta Bhattacharyya’s Uribaba. Directed and co-written by theatre worker and comic Saurav Palodhi, the show is all set to release soon. Debdeep Mukherjee of Hoyni Alaap fame has composed the music.

Talking about his character, Anindya told exclusively to OTTplay, “Unlike Khilat, my character in the series is not really urban. The name of the character here is Sourav and he comes from a small town. He has the small-town quarks in him. He is not particularly open about many things. On the other hand, he is liberal in various ways. It is a layered character. The director briefed the character very clearly to me and I hope I could do justice to the role.”

Kholam Kuchi delves into the life of a small town would-be couple. They have completely different traits. However, they decide to live together before marriage to judge their compatibility. What follows is a series of events that compel them to learn to grow up with each other while balancing out their imperfectly perfect bond. Besides Anindya, the show also features Shreya Bhattacharyya, Arpita Ghosh, Senjuti Roy Mukherjee, Kripabindu Chowdhury, Sulagna Nath, Sucharita Manna, and Subhankar Ghatak. The show is co-written by Saurav and Soumit Deb.

Meanwhile, Anindya is also gearing up for Srijit’s next, Oti Uttam, which also features Gourab Chatterjee. Besides, he will be seen in a Hoichoi show, Cloud Nine Kitchen. Talking about x=Prem’s poor show at the box office, Anindya said, “Despite its failure, the film has been a big bonus for me. I worked with Srijit Mukherji and a big production house, SVF. Besides, it gave me immense exposure. That will help me in the long run.”
