After Hoichoi’s Srtikanto, actress Angana Roy is waiting for a series of works to be released this year. After playing the iconic character of Rajlokkhi in Sohini Sarkar-Rishav Basu starrer drama, the actress is now waiting for Zee5’s Raktakarabi. Directed by Sayantan Ghosal, the film also features Vikram Chatterjee, Raima Sen and Laboni Sarkar in the key roles. In Amazon Prime’s PI Mina, a series by Debaloy Bhattacharya, she plays a key character. Besides OTT space, Angana will be seen in Shieladitya Moulik’s Lukochuri, which will be released later this year.

“This is a lucky year for me. Throughout last year, I worked on several projects and all are scheduled to release this year,” Angana told exclusively to OTTPlay. Talking about Raktakarabi, she said, “It was fun working with Raimadi. She cracks jokes at the drop of a hat. Our challenge was to maintain a poker face while giving a serious shot despite her jokes. She never stands still and would roam around and make fun. It was an enjoyable experience. Sayantanda and his team have a brilliant setup. It was a long shooting schedule. Every day we shot about 16 to 17 scenes. But everything went on seamlessly.”

Angana’s last work Srikanto was dropped in Hoichoi in April. Based on Saratchandra Chattopadhyay’s classic, Srikanta, the series explores a modern-day take on the relationship between Rajlokkhi and Srikanto. Angana plays the character of young rajlokkhi. “I was very excited to play this iconic character. Working with Sanida (Ghose Ray, director) was satisfying. As an actress, I usually avoid intimate scenes. In Srikanto, there was an intimate sequence and Sanida made it very easy to shoot. I did not feel uncomfortable at all,” she said.

Meanwhile, she worked in a commercial with Ranveer Singh. “He is exactly the way we see him in the media – fun and quirky. I have a tattoo. He clearly expressed his love for tattoos but how he is afraid of needles. I felt that he wears his stardom lightly,” she said.
