Starring Noel Sean and Pujitha Ponnada in the lead, Money She released on Spark OTT,
Telugu actor, musician, rapper Noel Sean has worked his way up in the industry doing odd roles, carving his niche as a bankable character artiste and channelising his popularity towards many of his independent music videos, rap numbers. Key roles in hit films like Eega, Kumari 21F, Hello Guru Prema Kosame, Rangasthalam and Nannaku Prematho were his claim to fame. He's been consistent in dividing his time between his commitments and passion projects and the balance has worked in his favour. Now, he has officially made his OTT debut with Money She, that released on Spark OTT recently. OTTplay caught up with him for a brief chat.
"I'm happy to be entering the OTT bandwagon finally. The industry needs to adapt to newer realities from time to time and I am very aware that OTT is the reality of the day. Even with my latest (and my first direct-to-OTT) release, I saw the digital medium as an opportunity to reach as many audiences as possible and not worry about many miscellaneous factors that may have affected a theatrical release," he says. Money She revolves around a young girl who gets kidnapped by an elderly man along with her boyfriend.
The film also starring Pujitha Ponnada came to the actor when he was keen to sign a project as a lead. "The director, Vinod Nagula, though a newcomer, was a product of Ramanaidu Film School and had a very practical idea of the filmmaking process. He had a clear head. I am generally very nervous on the first day of the shoot and it takes me some time to familiarise myself with the director's sensibilities. Vinod didn't give me any reason to feel nervous and the entire shoot was a breeze. I got to play an intelligent brat who has a few grey shades," Noel shares.
The actor doesn't want to restrict himself to lead roles now and is equally open to doing character roles, special appearances if they serve as a key link to the story. "I don't mind doing even 10-minute roles if it's interesting - doesn't matter if it's a negative or a positive role or a friend character. All that matters is to tell an engaging story and deliver a solid impact," the multi-faceted celebrity mentions.
It has been a while since Noel has worked on a music number and when asked if we can expect something from him soon, he instinctively replies, "I have finished work on a music video that discusses our over-dependence on technology during the lockdown. It's become so integral to our lives, so much that we can't function without it. The video discusses the bane of a gadget-driven world and I hope crowds relate with it."
