Komal Sachdeva played the role of Chameli in Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki. The actress shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in the film.
Komal Sachdeva recently featured in Dunki, which hit the silver screen on December 21. She got an opportunity to be associated with Rajkumar Hirani's project, which stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Not just that, Komal also shared screen space with SRK in the film. The actress played the role of Chameli in Dunki. A few days after the film's theatrical release, Komal spoke to OTTplay about her thoughts when she was offered a role in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki.
Komal Sachdeva talks about Dunki
In an exclusive conversation with OTTplay, Komal Sachdeva said, "I was surprised and happy about the fact that this is starring Shah Rukh Khan. Bohot saare khayal aane lage when I heard this statement for the first time that it is Shah Rukh Khan's project. My first thought was 'Is it a prank?' Because it is a Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan movie. I had applied for this role via email."
The actress also recalled, "Another thought was 'Is this a very small role that's there?' I was acting surprised. But inside, I was praying that everything was true and that I was a part of it. I was extremely happy."

Continuing her conversation with us, Komal mentioned how Shah Rukh Khan helped her pull off a stunt in Dunki. "At some places, I did take his advice and guidance because he has done so many projects and he has so much experience. I had to do a stunt where I had to fall. I was scared (thinking) that one thing I fall and it looks natural and second that - I don't break my nose. So, I asked him what was the best way to do that. He shared his learnings and guided me through it. It was very helpful," added Sachdeva.
About Dunki
Besides SRK and Komal, Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani. The film is inching closer to the Rs 200-crore mark in India. Despite stiff competition from Prabhas' Salaar, the movie has maintained a good pace at the box office.
