Chamak actor Mohit Malik on his character Guru's 'suicidal tendency' - 'It's a dangerous zone to be in' | Exclusive

Mohit Malik essayed the role of Guru in SonyLIV's web show Chamak. In a chat with OTTplay, the actor spoke about his character's 'suicidal tendency'.

Mohit Malik was recently seen in Chamak. Directed by Rohit Jugraj, the six-episode series featured Mohit essaying the role of Guru. In the series, Mohit pulled off a 'difficult' scene near a well, which he spoke about in an exclusive interview with OTTplay. Days after Chamak dropped on SonyLIV, Malik exclusively told us about how tough it was to be in his character Guru's 'suicidal zone'.

Mohit Malik on Guru's 'suicidal tendency'

Going down memory lane, Mohit Malik told OTTplay that the well scene in Chamak was difficult for him in the first six episodes. It is because his character Guru was 'suicidal' in that scene.

"Guru is somebody who has suicidal tendencies. It is not an easy zone to be in. I know I have lived in that zone. It was a very difficult and dangerous zone to be in. Vo character suicidal tha and I was alone in Punjab and I was shooting there. After shooting for 50 days for Khatron Ke Khiladi 12, I was there for a month in Punjab for the shoot. I was away from my family and I was in that zone," he told us.

Mohit Malik reveals why the scene was difficult for him

Continuing on the same lines, Mohit added, "If you see my emotions in that scene, it was like my character just wanted to jump in (the well). I was literally feeling that moment. To be honest, it is not an easy and safe zone to be in. But that scene was difficult as it was tough to be in the suicidal zone."

For those who are unaware, Mohit essays the role of Manoj Pahwa's son in the series. Pahwa is seen as Pratap Singh Deol, one of the founding members of a music label, Teja Sur.

The Rohit Jugraj series featured Paramvir Cheema, Isha Talwar, Akasa Singh, Mukesh Chhabra, and others in pivotal roles. Singer and actor Gippy Grewal also made a special appearance in the series. The music album of Chamak consists of 28 songs, which are sung by celebrated singers from the Hindi as well as the Punjabi music industry.
