Tina Datta’s name has been associated with Bigg Boss for the longest time. Now, the Television star is finally here, on Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 16. Why did she stay away from the show for so long? What is she expecting out of this season? What do we see her doing this time? Tina answers all the questions asked by OTTplay in an exclusive chat. Excerpts…

Why do Bigg Boss so many years later?

There’s a right time for everything and if you’re not mentally prepared, then I don’t think you should do anything till then. For example, you will make the switch when your heart says so, right? I wasn’t prepared. I was always scared to be a part of Bigg Boss but now I think I’m mentally prepared.

Were you approached for the show previously? If yes, what made you say no back then?

I have been approached over the period of last seven-eight years now. Like I said, I always said no because I wasn’t mentally prepared and things didn’t work out when I was. This season is going to be my season. There’s always a right time for everything.

Have you taken tips from ex-contestants? Since you know a few of them personally...

No. I don’t know a lot of them personally but yes, a lot of my friends have been a part of Bigg Boss. Everyone just told me one thing – to be myself, the real self.

Would you say Bigg Boss has helped people's careers? What do you think it would do to yours?

It all depends on the person. How I portray myself inside the show will decide where I go from here. It is a show which would either make or break you.

In the recent past though, I have seen that the show gives a good boost to your social media profile. So that way, yes, it does help, depending on how you conduct yourself.

What do you think about getting into the battlefield with Bigg Boss himself this season?

Oh it’s going to be fun! Bigg Boss khud maidaan mein utar rahe hai toh definitely maza toh aayega Bigg Boss ke saath khelne mein. Let’s see what Bigg Boss has in store for us.

Where do you see yourself after the show ends?

I see myself with a better fan following for sure, where people love me and shower me with more love. This is definitely where I see myself.
