Asha Negi is presently gearing up for the release of her web series, Honeymoon Photographer. The actress will be seen essaying the role of a photographer Ambika Nath in Arjun Srivastava's web show, which will premiere on JioCinema. During the show's promotions, OTTplay exclusively interviewed Asha. In conversation with us, the actress spoke about the casting based on a celebrity's social media followers.

Asha Negi reacts to changes in the casting process

Speaking with OTTplay, Asha Negi opened up about the casting process which has evolved for good. She also shared her thoughts about the casting based on one's social media followers.

"I think it is great that everything is available out there on social media. You don't have to take your photos, go to casting agencies and show them the pictures or anything like that. It's just out there on social media if somebody wants to go and see the pictures. I also feel so many people use so much filter toh usme bhi kya hi sachai hai. But it's fine, it's a good thing that is available," the actress told OTTplay.

Shedding light on casting based on social media followers, Asha added, "But choosing actors based on their Instagram followers is something yaar... matlab ye nahi hona chahiye (it shouldn't happen). It will be a downfall if people start doing that."

On the work front, Asha Negi will be seen alongside Sahil Salathia, Rajeev Siddhartha, and Apeksha Porwal. Produced by Washid Mallick, Sushmitha Shetty, and Rishabh Seth, Honeymoon Photographer is set to release on September 27, on JioCinema. Before this series, Asha was featured in Amazon MX Player's web series, Industry.
