Archan Tridevi spoke about getting his due as an actor, his Bollywood projects and much more.
Senior Gujarati actor Archan Trivedi was recently seen in the web series called Cutting. He played the role of an elder brother, who related to ‘Bobby’ Mayur Chauhan, who played the lead in the series.
While talking about his series, Archan also mentioned about his career, getting his due as an actor and much more.
Excerpts from the interview:
Your choice in films has been a mix of both commercial as well as artistic. How do you select a script?
When a director or producer talks to me, I am 110% sure they are talking to me since they have thought about me with regards to the character. Furthermore, I never found a script which I didn’t want to work for.
What is your role in Cutting and how did you prepare for it?
I play an older brother but I think the story was really fun. The director explained to me how to go about the character and I worked that way.
Does being a part of a movie which has won a National Award help in bagging more projects?
Not yet.
You have met various Bollywood celebs in your life but never really worked in the Hindi film industry. Any reason for that?
The question is quite valid but ideally I have worked in (some lesser-known) three Hindi films - Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s The Little Big Man, Shravan Kumar Tiwari’s 706 and lip-synced for Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal.
You are also a singer. Have you collaborated for that with Cutting?
No, I didn’t get the opportunity to sing in the series. I’m not sure if they didn’t want me to but even I didn’t approach them as a singer.
Do you think you have received your due as an actor?
When it comes to films, I’m very satisfied with my work. I have played my part and that has kept me happy.
What are your upcoming projects?
I am in talks for three films. One of them is written by Marathi director Ram Modi. I was excited after hearing about my character. I also have a movie by Rajesh Sharma. The third one is Manish Saiyini’s film. Apart from that, I am in talks for a children’s project and Bhavai.
