Malaikottai Vaaliban, the period fantasy drama that features Mohanlal in the titular role, has been creating quite a stir on social media from the day of its release. The movie, which is helmed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, has been receiving polarizing reactions from the audience. As reported earlier, the cine-goers are praising Malaikottai Vaaliban for presenting a never-seen-before theatrical experience while the common audience is disappointed with the film’s slow pace.However, the end sequence of the Mohanlal starrer hinted that the makers are already planning a sequel to the film. The second part, which has been titled Malaikottai Vaaliban 2, is expected to explore the titular character’s origin story and his return to his roots. Interestingly, the superstar will reprise his character, and will also appear in the role of his legendary father, if the sequel ever happens. It will be an absolute treat to watch to see the veteran actor as the broken, lonely Vaaliban and his ruthless father who might or might not be aware of his existence.

The climax of Malaikottai Vaaliban revealed the real intentions of the protagonist’s mentor and adopted father, Ayyanar, and narrated the story of the titular character’s birth. However, if the sequel happens, the audience will get to see the detailed origin story of Vaaliban, his childhood, and much more. Many scenes (right from his romantic scene with Madhangi, where they discuss his mysterious ear studs) of the Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial hinted that many secrets are hidden in its hero’s past.

The scene in which the character of Vaaliban’s unnamed father, a giant with long dreadlocks and a bulky physique, looked extremely impressive on big screen. So, it is quite obvious that Malaikottai Vaaliban 2 will be an even bigger and better visual treat for the Malayalam cinema audience.

As you may know, the journeys of many prime characters of Malaikottai Vaaliban have already ended.
