The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences selected the top American primetime television shows from June 1, 2022, through May 31, 2023, for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. After the 2023 Hollywood labour conflicts postponed the ceremony until September, it was finally streamed live on Lionsgate Play. The ceremony awarded a total of 26 Emmys. Hosted by Anthony Anderson, Jesse Collins Entertainment produced the event.Among all shows, Succession took home six major awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, while The Bear took home six awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series. In terms of overall program wins, including 10 in the Creative Arts category, The Bear was unrivalled. Beef received five awards, including one for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. There were a number of other award-winning series, including Abbott Elementary, Black Bird, Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium, RuPaul's Drag Race and The White Lotus each of which received one.Yet to catch up with these shows on these leading OTT platforms? Patti Yasutake, David Choe, Young Mazino, and Joseph Lee all make cameo appearances as supporting characters.Upon its Netflix launch, critics praised the ten-episode series for its script, directing, and performances by Yeun and Wong. Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, as well as acting awards for Yeun and Wong, were among its eight victories at the 75th Primetime Emmys.Black Bird: Apple TV+James Keene and Hillel Levin wrote Black Bird: A Fallen Hero, a Serial Killer, and a Dangerous Bargain for Redemption, an autobiographical novel, in 2010. The winner of the 75th Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie was Paul Walter Hauser.Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, NetflixSeason one of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan's real crime anthology series Monster, titled "Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story," premiered on Netflix on September 21, 2022. Along with Brennan, Murphy is an executive producer and also runs the show. Serial murderer Jeffrey Dahmer's (Evan Peters) life is the subject of Dahmer. In addition to Michael Learned's grandma Catherine, Richard Jenkins's Lionel, Molly Ringwald's Shari, Niecy Nash's suspicious neighbour Glenda, and Dahmer's father Lionel all play significant roles.The 75th Primetime Emmy Award-nominated show received six nominations, including best limited or anthology series and best lead actor for Peters in a limited or anthology film or series. On the other hand Niecy Nash-Betts was honoured with the best supporting actress in a limited or anthology film—a major accomplishment.Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium, Disney+ HotstarAs the last leg on his farewell tour of North America, "Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium" provides an exclusive live feed of John's performance at Los Angeles's Dodger Stadium. At the 2023 Emmys, Elton John won Outstanding Variety Special (Live), completing his EGOT.Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, JioCinemaComedian John Oliver hosts Last Week Tonight, a late-night American discussion show and news satire, sometimes abbreviated as Last Week Tonight. The half-hour series debuted on HBO around the tail end of April 2014. On a weekly basis, Last Week Tonight satirises politics, news, and current events.The show received both Outstanding Scripted Variety Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards.RuPaul's Drag Race, NetflixThe inaugural installment of the Drag Race series, RuPaul's Drag Race, is a reality competition show on television.
