Aarya (Disney+ Hotstar)

Sandeep Modi (who also served as the series' director) and Vinod Rawat (who co-created the show with Madhvani) are the brains behind the crime-thriller drama series Aarya which streams on Disney+ Hotstar. The Dutch drama series Penoza served as inspiration for the series, which stars Sushmita Sen in the titular role. The protagonist, Aarya, is a strong-willed lady who, after her husband's murder, decides to join a mafia organisation in order to exact revenge and defend her family. The show has received a nomination for best drama series at the International Emmy Awards.Aarya Sareen is the protagonist of the series; she is a devoted wife and mother. But she is incredibly innocent and doesn't know that her husband is involved in an illicit enterprise. When pharma magnate Tej Sareen, Aarya's husband, dies under unclear circumstances, it causes chaos in their family. His entire family is a target for the drug mafia and criminal syndicates. As a result, Aarya becomes the mafia queen and pursues vengeance on her husband's killers; the show follows her rise to this position. On top of that, she is a full-time mom to her three children.

David Dhawan directed the fantasy comedy Kyo Kii... Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta (2001), featuring Govinda, Sushmita Sen, Rambha, Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Mohnish Bahl, and Ashish Vidyarthi. It is based on the American film Liar Liar which came out in 1997. Raj Malhotra (Govinda), a lawyer, succeeds in his career by consistently telling fibs. His wife (Sushmita) threatens to leave him unless he stops being dishonest, which irritates her greatly. His son's insistence on truthfulness at all times curses Raj to never lie.
