Gangs of Wasseypur, directed by Anurag Kashyap, continues to be Nawazuddin Siddiqui's finest work to date. The actor played the role of Faizal Khan in the film, which was released theatrically in 2012. While the first installment hit the silver screen in June 2012, the second part was available to watch in cinemas in August. Needless to add, Siddiqui's dialogue, 'Baap ka, Dada ka, Bhai ka. Director Akshat Ajay Sharma's film Haddi, featuring Nawazuddin in a dual role had a digital release on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium last year on September 7, 2023. The storyline of this film was about a 'transgender, who moves to Delhi and joins a gang of transgenders and cross-dressers headed by an influential man'. Siddiqui shared screen space with Anurag Kashyap and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in the film.

Badlapur

Sriram Raghavan's 2015 film Badlapur was based on the novel Death's Dark Abyss. The film, which earned critical acclaim and commercial success, featured Nawazuddin and Varun in the lead roles. The story of this crime thriller is about Raghu who sets out to take revenge on Liak and Harman, for killing his family members. Honey Trehan's film Raat Akeli Hai directly premiered on Netflix. Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte, the crime thriller revolves around the story of a cop, who is summoned to investigate the death of a family member. Siddiqui was seen as Inspector Jatil Yadav in the movie while Apte portrayed the character of Radha. Shweta Tripathi Sharma and Tigmanshu Dhulia are also an integral part of Raat Akeli Hai.
