Salt N' Pepper

An Unexpected meeting takes place between Kalidasan and Maya after a phone call. As the movie develops, both of them also develop feelings for each other over their fondness for food and cooking. Salt n’ pepper is a romantic-comedy directed by Aashiq Abu starring Lal, Asif Ali, and Shweta Menon in the leads. Abu's Salt n’ Pepper surprisingly hits the hundred days, thus becoming a hit at the box office. The Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi remake rights of this movie was bought by actor-director, Prakash Raj, who remade it in Tamil as Un Samayal Arayil. Soon after, simultaneously, the remake in Kannada and Tamil was also released as Oggarane and Ulavacharu Biryani respectively. His Hindi remake has been titled Tadka, which is still in process. Lal as Kalidasan and Shweta in the role of Maya shines throughout the movie with no complicated twist, no action or drama, no troubled plot but plain story seasoned with fun and served as a light-hearted entertainer.
